To make the revolution successful, the organization needs to be strengthened, says Mirza Fakhrul at Badruddin Umar’s memorial service

Desk Report:

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has emphasized on strengthening the organization to make the revolution successful. He said, ‘I think a revolution is successful only when there is a strong organization. The main reason for the disappointment that has come today is the lack of organization. If there is no revolutionary organization, then there is no revolution.’

He said these words at the condolence meeting organized at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy on Friday afternoon to commemorate the passing away of writer, researcher and Marxist theorist Badruddin Umar.

Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘Today, those who want to make a revolution, change the society, and change the condition of the common people must strengthen that organization. They must make it stronger. They must go to the people, only then will it be possible.’

Highlighting Badruddin Umar’s ideals at the meeting, he said, ‘Badruddin Umar did not compromise with his ideals and struggle until the last day of his life. I don’t know exactly how much the new generation has been able to take from Umar Saheb.’

At the beginning of the condolence meeting, a minute’s standing ovation was held to pay tribute to Badruddin Umar. Then the ‘Communist International’ (the international anthem of the communists) was performed. A documentary was shown.

Dhaka University Emeritus Professor Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, Professor Akmal Hossain, Professor Mahbub Ullah, and Comrade Khalequzzaman, Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Socialist Party (BSD), among others, also spoke at the condolence meeting.
